Ajith Kumar's Vivegam crosses the Rs 150 crore
On 24th August, after much anticipation Ajith's Vivegam finally hit theatres worldwide. Considering it was a Thala film, the movie right from the beginning created a frenzy in the film circuit.
The actor was returning to the big screen after nearly two years with a slick, high octane actioner. The posters, teasers, the songs and the trailer teased fans enough to make them desperate for the release.
Now ten days after the release, we are still talking about the film but this time it's do with its incredible performance at the BO. As of today the film has grossed Rs 152 crore at the worldwide Box office. The film within 4-5 days had already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark.
Vivegam also happens to eb the first film to cross the enviable mark post the GST regime. It managed to even dethrone Baahubali at the Chennai BO as it earned a record breaking Rs 8.50 crore. The second half of 2017 starting with Vikram Vedha, is raining hits and changing the game at the Box office.
Vivegam marks the third collaboration of Siva and Ajith after Vedhalma and Veeram. From the looks of it we will soon be calling it the third hit of this director-actor duo. This time, they elft behind massy local plots and went in for a stylish, hi-fi action film. As the film was shot in picturesque locales across Europe, the film had an international appeal to it.
Believe it or not but it is true that a movie of Ajith Kumar has just broken the record of a movie of superstar Prabhas.
The film also starred Kajal Aggarwal, Akshara Haasan and Vivek Oberoi. One big highlight of Vivegam was Ajith's six pack abs. The actor worked extensively on his body and shocked fans when he sported a solid ripped body for the film.
Here's what our reviewer had to say about Vivegam: Ajith -Siva promised a high octane, racy actioner and Vivegam is just that. Movie s international appeal, Ajith Kumar in top form, and groovy BGM are reasons enough to catch this actioner
