More Trouble for Akshay Kumar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha as the girl who inspired the film demands royalty...

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is currently embroiled in a legal soup after documentary filmmaker, Praveen Vyas, sent them a notice claiming that they had copied the script of his movie - Manini. But, if that wasn't enough, the girl who has allegedly inspired Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has demanded royalties from the film's collections. According to a report in Hindustan Times, Anita Narre, the toilet crusader from Madhya Pradesh has refused to sign an agreement presented to her by the makers.
According to the same report, Bhumi and Shree Narayan Singh (the director) had recently visited Anita. They also handed her an agreement and cheque of Rs 5 lakh. Anita sought some time to consider the agreement as she didn t know English. However, a few days later, Anita told the media that she would only sign the agreement when she was assured of getting some royalties from the collection. A local journalist - Sanjay Shukla, who had broken the news of Anita's struggle in 2011, also told Hindustan Times, that the makers of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha want Anita to sign the agreement as they do not want any more legal issues. In fact, according to Sanjay, in the agreement, the makers have clearly stated that the film is based on Anita Narre's life.
However, the director of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha - Shree Narayan Singh has denied these allegations. While talking to HT, he told that they had visited Anita as they wanted her to appear in the film along with other ladies, who had defied open defecation. Apparently, the director even called up Anita and asked her to return the cheque and agreement if she is not willing to sign it.
To know the details about the agreement, HT even contacted Sandeep Shridhar, who is a part of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha's production team. Sandeep denied that the agreement had a clause that stated the film was based on Anita Narre s life. He even added, "It s a routine contract which is signed in Bollywood as filmmakers these days face a lot of legal hurdles in the way of release of their movies. We want Anita s life and other such ladies life to feature at the end of the movie just as a value addition. The film is not based on Anita s life as we didn t know her when the film was conceptualised.

Sandeep even confirmed that they have demanded the agreement and money to be returned if Anita does not want to sign it. What will happen next? Will Toilet: Ek Prem Katha run into further legal trouble? Stay tuned to BollywoodLife as we get you all the details right here....
